Chadha and his family were forced to migrate to India from West Pakistan during the Partition in 1947. The family used to live a comfortable life but became impoverished after the partition. They became refugees because of the religious war. Chadha saw his people suffer from violence under British rule, including killings, rapes, and suicides. People were killed based on one thing: whether you were a Muslim or a Hindu. His grandparents, particularly Lala Jee, sold gold to have the cash they brought from West Pakistan to start life in India. The family has to start all over again—a new beginning in India. Bhabhi Jee, D.N. Chadha’s grandmother, raised him for sixteen years and supported his studies. Through his grandma, he graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in English Literature from Delhi University in 1963. In the same year, he applied for an Immigrant Visa to the US, and the immigration department approved his Green Card in 1969. With one suitcase and 600 dollars in his pocket, he left his wife and 6-month-old daughter and flew to the US, holding some extraordinary dreams. He also shares his daughters' success stories in this book. I admire and appreciate Chadha's efforts to motivate his children to pursue higher education. The book is not solely about the winning moments of the author but also provides some Indian history, such as the marvelous story of the Taj Mahal and Lord Rama. Through the author, I’ve known some remarkable historical spots in India, such as the India Gate, the Pink City, Lake Palace, and a lot more. It also amazed me to know that Chadha still landed a well-paying job as a Sales Specialist in Gastroenterology at a Pharmaceutical Company at age 68. The author had endless success, as he was tenacious enough in times of adversity. His hard work, passion, focus, and ambition drive him to achieve his American Dream. Chadha was passionate about politics and campaigned for respected politicians like Obama and Patrick. The book embedded so many beautiful stories that I can’t share all of them in this writing. But one thing that stood out to me was his daughters’ effort for their 25th wedding anniversary. I like children who reciprocate happiness with their parents—that was what Sabina and Mona did. The couple’s European trip was also memorable. I enjoyed the author’s success; I had a flawless reading experience. Because I don’t have any dislikes for the book, I wholeheartedly award it 5 out of 5 stars. The editor did a professional job, with only a few errors detected in the book. The inspirational aspect and the simple writing made me rate this book in full. This book appeals to lovers of autobiographies and memoirs.

India has a great history. This is a story of struggle and success that deserves appreciation.
